Showing Off My Amazing Mothering Skills

My husband was asking me if I was excited about having a baby. The truth is, when I think about our future, I think about the family I want with my husband. That family involves toddlers, and children and teenagers. It never involves babies. Neither of us are the type to race to hold a baby. We don't get giggly over newborns. I think breastfeeding is ideal for the baby, but I'm really not looking forward to the experience at all. Maybe some kind of motherly instincts will automatically kick in, but right now, I want to survive the first year so I can get to the interesting parts.
